About Coldheart:
Whether it's the hottest dance craze, newest fashion style or the next artist about to blow nationally, the most influential trends in the history of popular culture begin in the streets. The latest musical movement to emerge from the grassroots of Atlanta is a lyrical dynamo known as Coldheart. Coldheart has been earning fans one by one with his raspy voice and lyrical skills. The 26-year-old lyricist started making music in high school. He was inspired by his father, who was a DJ. Music was in his blood. "Music is my life, it is what moves me," Coldheart said. "I don't do it for the money; I do it for the reaction of the people who hear it."
"It makes me proud to know some words that I thought of helped people have a good time, or helped them get through a situation or that they could relate to how I felt at the time that I created it," he said. Born and raised in Brooklyn, Coldheart learned how to do for self at an early age. He came from a large family that didn't have much. His parents split up at an early age and he grew up as a latch key kid in the late 80's and early 90's. Coldheart dropped out of school in the tenth grade and in 1999 he left Brooklyn for sunnier settings in Tampa, FL. But Coldheart's life in Florida took a turn for the worst. "I got heavy into the drug game," Coldheart said. "I was making more money than I could ever imagine, only to get caught up." In 2003, Coldheart was sentenced to 8 years in prison. Prison, Coldheart said, was a lonely place.
