Ready Hands Home Care's Jo-Ellen Benson appointed to local non-profit board
Jo-Ellen Benson, Administrator of Ready Hands Home Care's Manassas, VA office, was recently appointed to the board of directors of Project Mend-A-House, a non-profit located in Prince William County.
- (1888PressRelease) October 11, 2010 - The volunteer-based organization was founded in 1984 to allow the disabled, seniors and low-income residents of Prince William County, Manassas and Manassas Park to remain safely and independently in their own homes.
Ready Hands Home Care is a supporter of area charities and in February of this year was privileged to make a $2500 donation to Project Mend-A-House. "This is such a wonderful organization, providing ramps, home improvements, safety modifications, grab bars and so many other great services," said Mrs. Benson at the time. "These are such difficult times, and Project Mend-A-House is creating a safety net for the vulnerable. I hope that this donation generates more interest for others to give. Charities are suffering and they are the ones who do the most in our communities," Benson said.
Mrs. Benson has a long history of community involvement in the Northern Virginia area, having lent her time and resources to numerous organizations and activities that benefit residents of Prince William County and surroundings. She currently serves as a member of the board of the Prince William County/Manassas Convention and Visitors Bureau, a 501C6 corporation serving as the official tourism marketing arm of Prince William County. She is also a member of the Woodbridge Rotary Club.
Ready Hands Home Care is a Virginia-licensed home care agency providing personal care and household assistance to seniors and individuals with disabilities. Founded in 2002 by an internal medicine physician, the company has two offices serving a large portion of Northern Virginia.
