Friday night will see the U.S. rapper take the Du Arena Stage. Fans longing to hear his latest tracks 'Astroworld' can expect to have a swinging time on Friday night.
Announcement:
Regarding the announcement, Yas Marina Circuit had initially dropped some clues on their social media channels on May 15. The first clue was the uncanny colour scheme of the post, which seemed to be in sync with the cover art of Scott's latest album Astroworld.
The second clue was derived from the image of a flame (a connection to his hits L.A. Flame).
This was followed up by a picture of an eagle that connected to the fact that he had once performed on top of a giant eagle in his previous shows, while an image of the cactus was connected to last year's collaboration with Nike for the limited edition Air Jordan 1 "Cactus Jack" sneakers.
Scott's performance at the Abu Dhabi F1 party is in line with the event's strong tradition of getting super-star rappers to perform in the capital. In previous years, thousands of enthusiastic fans have grooved to the tunes of Post Malone, J Cole, Jay-Z, and Eminem at Yas Island.
About Travis Scott:
Travis is a Houston-born hip-hop producer and artist associated with T.I.'s Grand Hustle and Kanye West's GOOD Music. Travis Scott gained recognition during the early 2010s for his unique, heavily Auto-Tuned half-sung/half-rapped vocal style. Within 7 years of his mainstream arrival through West's Cruel Summer compilation in 2012 where he served as a featured artist and co-producer, Scott gained many platinum singles as a lead artist, which included a streak of four hits that started with "Antidote," a single from his number #3 hit debut album, Rodeo in 2015. Scott followed it up with a pair of number #1 full-lengths, Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight in 2016 and Astroworld in 2018 simultaneously assisting in platinum singles spearheaded by artists like Rihanna ("Bitch Better Have My Money"), SZA ("Love Galore"), and Drake ("Portland"). Travis also worked extensively with Quavo as Huncho Jack. Be it supporting or leading, Travis Scott's presence was unmistakable.
An explosive performer:
Scott has been to the capital and the Abu Dhabi F1 concerts. Scott's show in 2019 will mark his second appearance as a part of Abu Dhabi F1, having been a part of Beats on The Beach in 2016.
As sources reported, Scott gave an explosive performance at the Abu Dhabi Corniche festival with a thumping set that had the front of the stage turning into full-throttled mosh pit. This performance in Abu Dhabi was set during a phase in his career where Scott was termed to be hip-hop's next big star. This was proved when Scott performed to his third album Astroworld which went on to become one of the biggest rap releases of the previous year with hits that included Mile High and Sicko Mode.
Scott will be visiting the capital as a part of the extensive world tour which saw him perform at the NFL Super Bowl Half Time Show in February. Scott will also be making his stage debut in Africa with an upcoming concert as part of Mawazine festival in June at the Moroccan capital Rabat.
Travis Scott is the partner of Kylie Jenner, who recently became the world's youngest self-made billionaire, and the pair have one-year-old daughter Stormi Webster.
