Randy Dunnett Celebrates Eight Years with MSBL
Randy Dunnett plays in Men's Senior League Baseball.
- (1888PressRelease) December 05, 2014 - As a man who has revolved his entire life around the sport of baseball, Randy Dunnett has extensive experience as a spectator, player and coach of America's favorite pastime. He was a starting player on both of his college teams; and after he graduated he played in the Frontier League with the Cook City Cheetahs before hanging up the cleats to try coaching. Many thought it was the end of Randy Dunnett's career, but that could be because they had never heard of the MSBL.
The Men's Senior Baseball League was designed to bring together former baseball players who refuse to put down the uniform; and instead give them an outlet to enjoy their favorite sport without feeling as if they have to try out for the MLB. The MSBL is comprised of many former professionals, so the competitive spirit is very well there and alive, however the atmosphere is more friendly and respectful. Every player in the MSBL knows that this is not the first rodeo for anybody, and that most of these guys played baseball their whole lives. A sense of camaraderie is gained through this knowledge, making the MSBL a great place to make some friends as well.
As a player in the Chicago Central League branch, Randy Dunnett also gets the benefits of meeting and greeting to know other players of his age group who also live in his area. The opportunities for networking are ample, as many still have their hands in the baseball industry in one way or another. The Chicago Central Men's Senior Baseball League has been together for twenty-six years, and Randy Dunnett has been playing in the league for nearly one-third of that.
He joined back in 2006, right after he opened his own business at the Finish Strong Indoor Sportsplex. As one of their most devoted players, Randy Dunnett has put in his time with the league including appearances in several national tournaments. He has traveled to Las Vegas, NV; Jupiter, FL; and Phoenix, AZ to participate in these tournaments, which have each brought him back to the days when he was a regular traveling baseball player.
