Raleigh Little Theatre to Present Gooney Bird Greene and Her True Life Adventures
Gooney Bird Greene and Her True Life Adventures will be performed at Raleigh Little Theatre July 15-24th, 2011.
- Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill, NC (1888PressRelease) July 06, 2011 - Raleigh Little Theatre is pleased to present the latest performance in their Youth Series, Gooney Bird Greene and Her True Life Adventures, July 15-24. Gooney Bird Greene and Her True Life Adventures will be performed in the Gaddy-Goodwin Teaching Theatre and directed by Linda O'Day.
School is back in session and the students of the Watertower Elementary School are having trouble concentrating. They are bored and listless until the door bursts open and in walks Gooney Bird Greene, the new student, wearing pajamas and cowboy boots. The class is never the same again. Gooney Bird dresses in outrageous outfits, speaks with confidence and casts herself as the hero in the most outlandish stories about her life, including how she arrived from China on a flying carpet. But are these stories true? Of course they are, because Gooney Bird only tells "absolutely true stories!" Gooney Bird's flair for storytelling awakens the students' dormant imagination and inspires them to tell their own true-life tales. The students come to realize that their lives are as unique as Gooney Bird's and they too can cast themselves as the heroes in their own true tales of discovery and adventure.
