Rahat Fateh Ali Khan Mesmerizes Audiences at Holiday Inn Dubai- Al Barsha
Holiday Inn Dubai - Al Barsha, transformed into a mystical wonderland where lilting tunes blended with mellifluous music on Saturday, September 10. A select few were privy to the musical brilliance of maestro Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan at a special invite only event. The private soiree went on until the wee hours of the morning even as the assembled guests enjoyed the musical extravaganza.

Choicest delicacies from Thai, Indian and Lebanese cuisine were served to the invitees. The menu was prepared by specialty chefs from Holiday Inn's signature restaurants The Royal Budha , Gharana and Al Sarab .
Guests were then escorted to a specially created 'shamiana' with shimmering organza, festooned with twinkling lights. From then on, the magic of Rahat's voice took over.
Trained by his late uncle, world-famous music maestro Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Rahat is the sixth generation in his family to pursue the ancient art of qawwali, the mystical Sufi vocal tradition which seeks to induce a state of rapture in performers and listeners alike.
"As an artist, Rahat is clearly one who understands the sentiments of his audiences. Even without knowing the music's technical or poetic language, that state of rapture was marvellously easy to grasp.
