Radio Personality, Jack Park, Announced As Guest Speaker At Annual OSU Alumni Tournament

- Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater, FL (1888PressRelease) March 10, 2019 - Jack Park, an Ohio State radio commentator for Sports Radio 97.1 The Fan, an ESPN station, will be the guest speaker at the Sarasota-Manatee Ohio State Alumni Club’s 17th Annual Golf Outing, Saturday, April 6, 2019. The event will be held at the Championship Course of The Palm Aire Country Club, 5601 Country Club Way, Sarasota with a tee-time of 8:00 am and lunch following in the Regency Room. Park, a graduate of OSU, writes a weekly Ohio State Football column for The Columbus Dispatch and is frequently featured in football programming on Time Warner, ESPN, The Big Ten Network, HBO, Turner Broadcasting, and WBNS-10TV.
An award winning presenter, Park’s Certified Speaking Professional designation, the CSP, has been granted to fewer than 7% of the 3500 worldwide members of the National Speakers Association. He has served as an adjunct professor of finance and accounting and leadership development at five different universities. In addition to the National Speakers Association, his professional memberships include The Football Writers Association of America and The Ohio Society of CPAs.
Park is also a best selling author. The annual tournament benefits students who graduate from any Sarasota or Manatee high school and attend The Ohio State University. Over $125,000 has been awarded to local students who became a part of the Buckeye Nation; there are currently 6 local scholarship recipients attending OSU.
A $130 participation fee entitles players to 18 holes of play on the Championship Course of The Palm Aire Country Club followed by lunch. Winner of the Hole-In-One Contest will win a two-year lease on a new Ford Mustang. Other prizes will be awarded for the Straightest Drive, Closest To The Pin, Longest Putt, Longest Drive (men’s and women’s individual awards), as well as cash prizes for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams. There will also be a long-ball-driver from Charity Golf International. All participates will be given chance tickets to win any one of 75-100 prizes donated by local stores, courses, hotels, restaurants, boutiques, and more. There will also be a silent auction. Park will speak following the luncheon.
The Sarasota-Manatee Ohio State University Alumni Club is ranked as a Scarlet Club through The Ohio State University Alumni Association and is one of the top clubs in the country. Since 1999 the club has supported nearly 40 students and supports the local community through beach clean-ups, the My Hometown Festival, the All-Faith’s Food Bank, and through supporting the Archie Griffin Golf Classic that raises money for the local Boys and Girls Clubs. Over 350 area households make up the membership of the local alumni organization.
