The private meeting allowed business and civic leaders from North Carolina to meet with senior members of President Barack Obama's administration and provide input on the ways the latter can work together with the state's business community to support employment opportunities, as well as offered administration officials the opportunity to inform local leaders of the government's programs and resources that can help them grow and succeed.
Since April 2011, the White House Business Council has held more than 500 meetings in all 50 states, Washington, D.C. and Puerto Rico. The discussions have directly contributed to administration policy and the President's plans for job growth, including tax cuts for business owners and hiring incentives. The invitation-only event was closed to the media.
Business Forward North Carolina coordinated attendance for the event by leaders across the state. The group builds business support for policies that promote America's economic competitiveness.
