Quorum Makes Move to Larger Facility in San Jose
New Office Doubles Square Footage of Current Location, Leaves Room for Additional Headcount to Help Develop Groundbreaking One-Click Backup, Recovery and Continuity Solutions.
- (1888PressRelease) September 29, 2012 - FREMONT, Calif. - Quorum®, the leading provider of one-click backup, recovery and continuity for small to mid-sized businesses, today announced plans to move to a larger office in the heart of Silicon Valley, reflecting the company's impressive growth since the beginning of the year. The new facility will provide enough room for additional headcount needed to fill at least 10 new engineering positions, and will accommodate growth as the company continues its success in the years to come.
Located at 2890 Zanker Rd. in San Jose, the square footage of Quorum's new office doubles that of its current lodgings. The need for a larger facility maps back to Quorum's more than 75 percent quarter-over-quarter growth in the second quarter of 2012 (as compared with the first quarter), driven by sales of the company's Quorum Hybrid Cloud Disaster Recovery Solution. Announced in March, the solution clones servers onto an in-house appliance as well as a private cloud, and maintains Quorum's hallmark benefits: one-click, instant recovery of data, applications and systems; and on-demand and automatic testing capabilities.
Larger Facility Leaves Room for New Hires
Quorum's growth also signals new employment opportunities. Specifically, the company is looking to add at least 10 more engineers to its team to fill new positions such as Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, Senior Test/QA Engineer, Linux Administration and Support Engineer, and more. (View a full list of available positions here.) In joining Quorum, new hires have the opportunity to be part of a fun and fast-growing San Jose-based company focused on developing groundbreaking technology that combines virtualization and the cloud.
Quorum's uniqueness isn't characterized solely by its one-of-a-kind technology. Its company culture supports personal and professional growth, and has retained the "work hard, play hard" environment made popular among Silicon Valley startups during the dot-com boom. This culture is reflected in events like company meetings, which are nothing like the familiar staid, daylong events common among most businesses. The events instead foster teamwork at local go-kart racing venues and at Cubs games at Wrigley Field in Chicago.
The executive team also strays from the traditional, and exemplifies the aforementioned "work hard, play hard" with diverse extracurricular activities. CEO Larry Lang plays keyboards for a local cover band named Bad Daddy. CTO Marc Goroff flies airplanes, helicopters and gyroplanes, and spends whatever time he has left over doing 100-mile bike rides. (Next year he plans to do several "double century" rides - 200 miles in a single day.) Not to be outdone, Vice President of Marketing Steve LaPedis, who left a career as a litigation attorney to travel the world for a year before switching to marketing in high-tech companies, landed the title of Mr. Yo-Yo for Daly City, Calif. in 1979, and went on to found the Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity at University of California, Berkeley.
"At Quorum, our employees have the opportunity to define innovation in disaster recovery as part of a growing company that highly values individuality and personal achievement," said Lang. "It's truly a great time to join our company, and we're excited to see how new talent will enhance our already strong team."
Quorum is now accepting applications. (Click here for a complete list of available positions and detailed job descriptions for each.) If you'd like to join the Quorum team, please send your resume to info ( @ ) quorum dot net for consideration dot
