QuisLex CEO Ram Vasudevan to Lead Panel on Managing Global Law Departments at 10th Annual West Coast General Counsel Conference
Panel Will Explore Global Challenges and Ways to Leverage Globalization to Build a Stronger Legal Function.
- Washington, DC-MD-VA-WV (1888PressRelease) October 26, 2012 - QuisLex, a premier offshore provider of legal support services, announced that its CEO, Ram Vasudevan, will moderate a panel discussion entitled "Managing a Global Law Department: Challenges and Opportunities" at the upcoming 10th Annual West Coast General Counsel Conference. The session will take place on October 30, 2012 at 2:45 p.m. at the Grand Hyatt in San Francisco.
The panel will address the numerous challenges general counsel face in managing a global legal department. In today's business climate, corporate counsel must be prepared to manage complicated legal issues, team members and vendors around the world, all while adhering to a variety of legal rules and customs. They must also simultaneously juggle the risks associated with legal matters, as well as the demands of the cultural and political landscapes of the places where they do business.
"The most successful legal departments are able to turn these risks into opportunities for growth," said Vasudevan. "I look forward to the panel discussing how in-house counsel can accomplish this objective and effectively deal with the challenges involved in leading a global legal department."
Joining Vasudevan as panelists will be Suchitra Narayen, Associate General Counsel for Oracle, and Rees Morrison, President of General Counsel Metrics. Together, their discussion will focus on setting goals and objectives for legal work and beyond; effectively partnering, communicating, and negotiating with global vendors and firms; and forming successful partnerships with key stakeholders. The panel will also cover how to leverage alternative legal service providers, such as legal process outsourcing companies, to ensure high quality, cost-effective legal support.
The General Counsel West Coast Conference provides general counsel with insight into the best and most innovative practices to manage today's difficult corporate and legal issues. The conference will be held October 30-31, 2012 in San Francisco. To learn more about the conference and to register, please visit http://www.corpcounsel.com/gcwest.
