- (1888PressRelease) August 12, 2010 - Sunshine Coast based entrepreneur Sandy Forster has taken out the top honour in the 2010 Australian Home-based Business Awards where she was awarded Australian Business of the Year at a ceremony held in Melbourne, Australia over the weekend. The awards attracted a diverse representation of the home-based business sector - an industry on the rise, with more than 67 per cent of small businesses based in the home.
"If you'd told me back in High School I'd win a national business award, I would have thought you were out of your mind" laughs Forster, who dropped out of school in grade 11.
After working at a variety of dead-end jobs, Sandy decided the freedom of being her own boss sounded more appealing than working for others and she created a business from what was previously a hobby. "However my swim wear company failed miserably, and after divorcing I ended up in massive debt and on welfare" says Forster. "After about 15 years of business failures I decided to stop wasting time and money trying to figure out how to create a successful business on my own and began learning from mentors. I applied what they said and with hard work, persistence and determination, success began to follow".
As Forster moved from welfare to wealthy, she documented all her tips, ideas and secrets which she later turned into her international bestseller How to Be Wildly Wealthy FAST.
In 2003 www.WildlyWealthyWomen.com became the first women only mentoring program and Forster began teaching women around the world how to create their own success.
Today with over 98,000 clients and customers from over 108 countries around the world, Forster is having a huge impact on others through her award winning businesses.
Forsters' win has strengthened her passion for helping other female entrepreneurs and says "It's an incredible honor to be recognized as the Business of the Year in Australia, and I'm looking forward to helping even more women all around the world create their own success".
