QRStuff.com has Released its 2011 Annual QR Code Trends Report (Highlights)
One of the world's leading websites for free and upgraded QR code creation, QRStuff.com, has released its 2011 Annual QR Code Creation and Data Usage Report.
- (1888PressRelease) January 24, 2012 - QRStuff.com has just released its inaugural trends report on QR code creation and scanning. During 2011, more than 2.7 million QR codes were generated by approximately 2.1 million users in more than 200 countries using QRStuff.com's proprietary QR code generator. Given the activity of our site and tools, we are in a unique position to report on the trends of QR code creation as well as related scan events.
Below are some highlights from the report. A full copy of the report can be downloaded at http://ymlp.com/xgjseuwegmgb
Highlights:
-There was a 1253% increase in the number of QR Codes created during 2011; While it took three and a half years for the first million QR codes to be created on the QRStuff.com website, the second million came around in less than three months, with that milestone being reached at the start of Q4 2011. We are looking forward to our 3 millionth QR code being created on our site mid-January 2012.
-The United States, Canada and the UK lead in QR code creation and scanning (the majority of all QR activity);
-There has been an increase in QR code activity in rural and regional areas (non-metropolitan) in the US and in smaller countries; Late in the year, we recorded scan events from Cape Verde, Eritrea, Sierra Leone, Togo and Turkmenistan for the first time ever, bringing the total number of countries where scan events have been recorded to 200, up from the 142 in 2010;
-Despite having nearly two dozen types of output to choose from, the majority of all QR Codes created were linked to website URLs;
-Over half the QR Codes scanned were done with iOS devices, with iPads accounting for almost 2% of all scans;
