(1888PressRelease) March 20, 2012 - eAegis is now shipping the 4TB Hitachi drives integrated with selected QNAP NAS models supported with the latest firmware release V3.6 from QNAP.Providing highly anticipated business features such as VPN LDAP and Proxy Servers. V3.6 NAS management software also adds support for cloud photo and music sharing, a new version of MyCloudNAS 1.2, and QPKG center, and several enhanced backup features.

QNAP only announced compatibility after a series of thorough verification by QNAP lab, the Turbo NAS series is proven to be working with Hitachi® Deskstar HDS724040ALE640 (4TB, 3.5-inch, 7200 RPM). "QNAP well understands businesses' demands for high capacity storage. We're delighted to announce that QNAP Turbo NAS now supports 4TB hard drive, providing users with higher storage capacity," said David Tsao, product manager of QNAP.

The V3.6 is the latest NAS management software for its Turbo NAS series, providing highly anticipated business features such as VPN LDAP and Proxy Servers. V3.6 NAS management software also adds support for cloud photo and music sharing, a new version of MyCloudNAS 1.2, and QPKG center, and several enhanced backup features. "The new business-class features have received really positive feedback from beta users," said Jason Hsu, product manager of QNAP. The VPN Server offers businesses a cost-saving way to create a secure private network with up to 256-bit encryption. The LDAP Server simplifies mass account management and reduces business' IT hardware expenditure. The Proxy Server provided together with the "Squid" QPKG provides IT administrators with a great solution to manage network loading, whilst maintaining network security.

The full range of QNAP products with 4TB drives will be featured in the TS-469PRO, TS-569PRO, TS-669PRO, TS-869PRO, TS-859U-RP+, and the popular TS-x79 product series models. The 4, 5, 6, 8, 10 and 12-bay QNAP models are all designed and built on the Intel platform and provide support for iSCSI, and are now VMware® Ready Certified.
