Qccp Coffee Fundamentals Offered At Nama CoffeeTea&Water 2011
Expert Mike Thompkins will share his expertise and passion for coffee with attendees who will learn about the rich history of coffee.
- (1888PressRelease) August 26, 2011 - Chicago, IL - Attendees to the National Automatic Merchandising Association's (NAMA) blockbuster coffee, tea and water show, can take advantage of NAMA's highly popular and longest running coffee education program, Quality Coffee Certification Program (QCCP) Coffee Fundamentals segment, NAMA VP Sales and Service Dean Gilland, NCE5, CCS, announced today.
Coffee Fundamentals will be offered Tuesday, Oct. 18 with advance registration, at CoffeeTea&Water 2011, which will be held Tuesday through Thursday, Oct. 18-20, at Bally's resort in Las Vegas.
"Competition is fierce in the coffee world and NAMA provides training and relevant education to help operators achieve success and profitability," said Gilland. "We are proud to announce that over 900 have graduated from this program since its inception."
Workshop facilitator Mike Tompkins, CCS, president of Coffee Products Associates, will introduce attendees to basic coffee fundamentals. Mike's expertise, passion for coffee and enthusiasm for teaching about coffee has been evident ever since he helped develop the first QCCP in 2000, and began teaching the course.
Attendees will learn about the rich history of coffee; the development of coffee flavor qualities from the country of origin; insights into coffee processing, sorting, grading, blending and roasting; and gain a fundamental but extensive understanding of coffee production and manufacturing. Through a series of guided tasting exercises they will experience origin and blended coffees as well.
"Sales staff, sales managers, customer service staff, service technicians and route drivers can all profit from learning about coffee's rich history," said Gilland.
