Purebred Breeders, LLC Runs to Help Children
Purebred Breeders helped sponsor a three-mile run to raise money for the nonprofit organization, Kids in Distress.
- (1888PressRelease) June 16, 2011 - In April, three co-workers ran in the rain in Florida. The employees - Jenna, Steve, and Reneisha - had gotten up early to run in John U Lloyd Park on Saturday, April 30th. Their employer, Purebred Breeders, LLC, had helped sponsor their three-mile run for Walk for KIDS.
Walk for KIDS is an annual event that's held to raise money for Kids in Distress, a nonprofit organization that helps children and families in South Florida. Kids in Distress works to prevent and treat child abuse.
Selena, a customer care representative, organized the running team. She works for Purebred Breeders, a Florida company that helps families find purebred puppies.
"I've done volunteer work with Kids in Distress over the years," says Selena. "Just the support that it provides for families is tremendous. And what it gives kids as a future to move in to is really what spoke to me."
Selena's quest to help Florida children resonated with other staff members at Purebred Breeders. They sent out a broadcast email to their fellow employees, encouraging them to donate to Kids in Distress.
Jenna, the team leader of the Purebred Breeders running team, used similar techniques. "It was lots of email," she says. She made sure that she let her friends know about the Walk for Kids fundraiser.
Jenna and her fellow runners raised over $1000 for Kids in Distress.
