This dinner will mark the beginning of a very busy weekend for Pug Rescue of Florida. The PugsGiving Fundraiser will be at the Ramada Gateway Convention Center in Kissimmee on November 12th from 11:00a.m.to 5:00p.m . This is the biggest fundraising event for pugs in the state of Florida with expected attendance to exceed 1,500. Parking and general admission is free for children and pugs, and $5.00 for adults. PugsGiving will begin with a silent auction and the day's activities will include contests, dog parties, raffles, and an adoptable pug parade. Attendees will also enjoy games, auctions, and vendor offerings such as grooming by Barking Lot and gourmet dog treats by Woof Gang Bakery. And there will be a Skype appearance by perhaps the most famous pug of all, Doritos commercial star Oko Nono.
The Legends at Orange Lake Resort is also helping sponsor this fundraising event by allowing Pug Rescue attendees receive a discounted $49 rate for golf that will include green and cart fees November 11th to November 13th.
PugsGiving started in 2002 with the goal of raising awareness for the plight of pugs, increasing adoptions, and reducing euthanasia. "We anticipate 2011 to be another successful year for PugsGiving - last year we raised over $20,000 that went directly to pugs who were in need of veterinary care and homes", says Retha Puvogel, President of Pug Rescue of Florida, Inc.
