Public Invited To Hit The Road With Truckers At "Lean For Life" Health Fair Sept 16
The Southern California trucking community is asking the public to join their effort in getting "lean for life" by attending a health fair and festival on Tuesday, September 16. Co-sponsored by Lindora, the nation's leading medical weight loss program, the public may receive no-cost blood pressure checks, body mass index evaluations, health & nutrition education and blood sugar assessments.
- Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA (1888PressRelease) September 13, 2014 - The event is being sponsored by the trucking community, as more than 80% of truckers are overweight and their life expectancy is only 61 years (17 years below the national average).
To reverse this disturbing trend, the Truckload Carriers Association partnered with Lindora to develop a program specifically designed to meet the unique challenges of their job such as driving long distances for hours on end and few healthy dining options at truck stops.
"If truckers with all of the challenges they face are able to get in shape, then so can you," said Graff.
"We hope to build on the truckers' success by encouraging and inspiring the public to improve their own health and become lean for life."
