(1888PressRelease) April 26, 2012 - Jacksonville, FL - To introduce its highly-anticipated, urban combat gaming facility, Battalion Airsoft Arena is pleased to extend to the public an open invitation to its Grand Opening Celebration from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, April 28th, and from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, April 29th. The indoor airsoft arena - located in a hip industrial district near the heart of downtown Jacksonville - is the first of its kind in the city, and is the largest facility in the Southeast.

Using airsoft replicas of weaponry, players participate in simulated combat situations that are similar to that of military and law enforcement. Battalion Airsoft Arena is a safe and controlled environment where tactical education and friendly competition is perfectly balanced with action-packed role and game play.

"It's 47,602 square feet of pure airsoft adrenaline," said Chris Webster, Jacksonville native and founder of Battalion Airsoft Arena. "The space is huge. It's an industrial warehouse that has been converted into a variety of interactive combat-themed zones, as well as areas that accommodate extended periods of game play and viewing. We're extremely excited to be venturing into new and uncharted territories in indoor airsoft."

During its grand opening - dubbed "Operation New Horizon" - Battalion Airsoft Arena is offering an all-weekend pass for only $45. Players can challenge themselves and each other to combat in real and virtual battle zone environments. Each paid player will receive a meal and beverage card, as well as a commemorative "Battalion Medallion" to be used during the facility's inaugural year for special discounts and concession perks. Exciting prize giveaways will be one of the many event highlights. Space is limited. Reservations are required.

On Saturday, Derek Johnson of Palco Sports will be a special event guest. On Sunday, as part of its current "Airsoft Tour," ECHO 1 USA and Brian Holt will be on hand at Battalion Airsoft Arena. Grand opening guests can enjoy informative tours of the facility; attend engaging presentations by some of the nation's leading airsoft technicians; participate in thrilling game-play scenarios; register to participate in the Association of Competitive Airsoft's (ACA) national, five-on-five team competition, and much more.

"Our mission is to provide the highest level of play to the airsoft enthusiast - from the beginner to the advanced player - in an exciting, blood-pumping sports venue where safety and professionalism are the standards," Webster said.

Under its ample roof of more than one acre, Battalion Airsoft Arena is a comprehensive, handicap accessible facility that houses a 40,000-square-foot Battlezone Playing Field featuring a Disrupter Technician Tower - perfect for new and innovative combat. Also housed are the Check-In and equipment chronographing station, Briefing Room, Battalion Exchange (merchandise), Viewing Area with stadium seating, VIP Waiting Room, Battalion Wood Shop, lockers, men's and women's facilities and Battalion's administrative offices. The 6,700-square-foot, air-conditioned Players Lounge features a Canteen (open to the public), Battalion Party and Conference Room, and state-of-the-art video gaming system areas.

With its grand opening marking the first of such events, Battalion Airsoft Arena will host quarterly, themed gaming events during the summer months. In addition, the facility will host monthly "Midnight Madness" events that will feature late-night game play until dawn. Other specialized play includes team-building workshops, themed birthday and special event packages, conferences and business meetings, and LAN parties for network gaming - to name a few. Battalion Airsoft Arena also plans to implement the nation's first Battlezone Targeting Station targeting range, showcasing combination airsoft and video game play.
