Project Save Our Surf Charity Adds Sponsor Kona Deep
Kona Deep and Project Save Our Surf enter into yearlong partnership to promote conservation and sustainability.
- Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA (1888PressRelease) January 12, 2019 - Project Save Our Surf, a 501(c)3 charity, today announced a yearlong sponsorship with Kona Deep, a deep ocean bottled water company founded in Hawaii. The organizations will primarily be supporting cleanup efforts in Santa Monica, with the first cleanup of the year scheduled for January 12, 2019.
“We are so thrilled to partner with Kona Deep. To have a partner devoted to our shared mission of conservation is transformative for us as a growing charity,” says Shaka Smith, actor, honorary board member and organizer of the Project Save Our Surf Cleanup effort. Founder, Tanna Frederick, echoed his optimism, “Since beginning this journey, I have been inspired most by the people and organizations willing to dive in head first and get things done and Kona Deep is no exception. We will be accomplishing great things in 2019 and beyond.”
Kona Deep, since its inception, has incorporated methods in their own production to minimize their carbon footprint. Heather Diamond, Field Marketing Director for Kona Deep noted “We are committed to constantly improving our sustainability and have the following plans to help us do that: incorporate more recycled plastics into our production; commitment to ocean protection and beach cleanups, through financial support of other organizations as well as company participation in cleanups”
Kona Deep’s sponsorship means more support for volunteers at Project Save Our Surf’s monthly cleanups in Santa Monica and expansion of local cleanup efforts to Huntington and Malibu beaches, as well as domestic and international efforts to provide clean drinking water to those in need. Diamond added “Project Save Our Surf perfectly aligns with our company's sustainability mission to protect the health and longevity of our sacred planet and oceans. We could not be more proud to support local ocean protection causes and encourage others to clean, recycle, and look out for our planet's future.” The Project Save Our Surf beach cleanups are held on the second Saturday of every month, from 11am – 1pm located at Tower 26 in Santa Monica.
