Progressive Giant 'NLC' Hosts Successful Event in Search of Detroit's Next Class of Progressive Leaders
The search for new fellows has begun! The New Leaders Councils is now accepting applications for their next class starting in 2016. NLC works to serve the community and help build a bridge to resources for leaders making an impact. We recently had an event and we want to keep the community informed about the important changes that are happening in Detroit.
- Detroit, MI (1888PressRelease) September 03, 2015 - The Detroit Chartering Chapter of the New Leaders Council (NLC) event was a success! NLC invited some of the top leaders in their respective fields to join them Friday Night at 3Fifty Terrace downtown Detroit, as they start the process of selecting future fellows for the 2016 NLC Institute. This is the Chapter's second year and the growth has been exponential.
NLC recruits Fellows from outside traditional power structures and equips them with the skills necessary to be civic leaders in their communities and workplaces. Their mission is realized primarily through the NLC Institute; the nation's premiere political entrepreneurship training program. NLC graduates are an ever-expanding corps of diverse, new progressive leaders who are rising to the top of their fields.
This year NLC as a whole will have about 800 Fellows nationally starting in January 2016. Their Fellows will be joining over 3,000 NLC alumni in the summer of 2016. They accept applications for each class during the fall of the previous year. The NLC is a nonpartisan 501(c)(3) organization that recruits, trains, and promotes the progressive political entrepreneurs of tomorrow - elected officials and civically-engaged trendsetters in business and industry who will shape the future landscape.
