Programmed Different People: Meet the 7robotics Team
7robotics has hired 3 new engineering and business professionals for this startup company in Southern Oregon.
- Eugene-Springfield, OR (1888PressRelease) December 01, 2021 - 7robotics—a growing robotic integrator and automation company in Roseburg, Oregon—has expanded their team.
Since September 2021, 7robotics has added 3 new faces to their development and technical departments. Headed by Joey Koenig, 7robotics’ Business Director, the company’s new additions will help develop and expand business services as well as solve the increasing problem of staffing through manufacturing improvements and process automation.
“I'm happy to have joined a team that attacks the challenge of solving our customers’ unique problems through our company’s motto of being Programmed Different,” Koenig said.
Koenig’s background in the energy sector along with his B.S. in Business Management from Texas A&M and over a dozen years in sales has allowed him to excel in creating the connections necessary to drive and guide this startup.
“I like improving the manufacturing process, I like Roseburg, and I like the people I work with every day,” Koenig shared.
Through advanced skillsets in mechanical and automation engineering, the 7robotics team is poised to hit the ground running. Technical Director, Zach Alliman, oversees the engineering department with 12 years previous experience at 7robotics’ sister company, Con-Vey. Alliman’s extensive knowledge and industry-specific experience coupled with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Oregon State University and his Professional Engineer certification in Oregon bring a strong advantage to the budding company.
“Robotics is always growing and changing,” said Alliman, “and having the chance to use new tech to solve everyday problems makes this industry both fun and challenging. It’s great to work with a team that is motivated and has a unified vision.”
The spark of the 7robotics vision began several years ago when Con-Vey’s management team decided they wanted to make a name of their own outside the wood products industry that the company was so well known in. So, starting in 2019, the team at Con-Vey used their extensive background and expertise as a springboard for 7robotics to enter into new markets and processes.
An example of the assistance provided by Con-Vey is through the addition of Camren May, 7robotics’ Automation Engineer. May was previously Con-Vey’s Product Manager with years also spent as a Sales Engineer and Mechanical Engineer at Con-Vey. However, May was drawn to the robotics industry because “it’s the industry of the future,” as he puts it.
“As an engineer,” May said, “I always wanted to be on the cutting edge of technology in order to make the lives of others better, and robotics has allowed me the ability to do that by making work places safer.”
May also comes to 7robotics with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Oregon State University, but has used his knowledge over the past few years to focus his career on the sales and business development avenues. His connections and networking have brought many new opportunities to the company.
Overall, Koenig—along with the whole team at 7robotics—is excited about the changes and growth to come. Koenig understands that the robotics industry is always growing and rapidly evolving, but says that “the team at 7robotics has the skillset to thrive in this environment.”
