Professional Firefighters/Paramedics of Palm Beach County President named Honorary Chairman of 14th annual Heroes 5K
Join Palm Beach County firefighters and police and help break the cycles of abuse, heal the pain for traumatized children, guide teens into adulthood and create strong, loving families by supporting the Children's Home Society Heroes 5K on Saturday, April 1 at Okeeheelee Park in West Palm Beach.
- West Palm Beach-Boca Raton, FL (1888PressRelease) March 14, 2017 - Chief Jose Gonzalez, President of the Professional Firefighters and Paramedics of Palm Beach County, will serve as Honorary Chair of Children's Home Society of Florida's 14th annual Heroes 5K. The event will take place on Saturday April 1 at Okeeheelee Park in West Palm Beach and will honor Palm Beach County firefighters and police: the men and women who work tirelessly alongside the organization to make a better community for our children. Benefitting Palm Beach County's most vulnerable children and families, the family-friendly event will include a "fun run" for children, complimentary breakfast and family activities.
With more than 20 years of experience, Chief Gonzalez is a Battalion Chief with Palm Beach County Fire Rescue and the President of the Professional Firefighters and Paramedics of Palm Beach County IAFF Local 2928, representing 2,400 firefighters from 8 local departments. He is also an Operations Section Chief for Palm Beach County's All Hazards Incident management team, where he was most recently deployed to the Bahamas to help rescue victims in the in the wake of Hurricane Joaquin.
