Pro Art Gallery to Present 'Fragmental Painting' Exhibition in Dubai
Presenting a unique portrait of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.
- (1888PressRelease) July 26, 2013 - Dubai, UAE: Pro Art Gallery, the gallery that celebrates innovative and cutting edge art from the Arab world is set to present a new art movement known as 'FRAGMENTAL PAINTING' presented for the first time in the Middle - East. This art technique will be on display in an exhibition from July 25 - September 3 2013 at the Pro Art Gallery located at Palm Strip Shopping Mall on Jumeirah Beach Road, Jumeirah 1.
The exhibition will showcase a selected painting and mosaic artwork by Patrice Palacio of a portrait of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum until September 3 2013.
Patrice Palacio and other artist named Xavier Llongueras, met in 2012 and started a technique of Fragmental Painting which is an intersection of two different artistic worlds - the world of Llongueras, who is a very protean artist and has invented magnetic mosaic; and the world of Palacio, a young talented painter who is famous for his portraits and has been pixelating his paintings so that they become achromatic screens.
Their two universes bumped into each other and ended up merging, creating at the same time a painting that can read mosaic through a common denominator called Fragmental. From this statement it can be said that fragmental art is a brand new bridge between the modern era and the contemporary world.
Fragmental Painting takes its origins in Cubism where one did not paint what was in front of you but what one felt and knew the subject was representing. In Fragmental Painting, each magnet or fragment is an active part of the entire work, however an abstract fragment acquires another meaning in its background, and then an image appears from the addition of a lot more fragments.
Fragmental Painting for some can also be a claim for freedom. There is no use of glue or a binder in between the frame and the fragments; it's just the natural magnetic strength that makes the end image so consistent. As a consequence, the concept of the frame is purely reinvented; only the intention will make one reconstruct the image which becomes understandable.
Tatiana Faure, Owner and Founder of Pro Art Gallery, explains "We are always looking to introduce new types of art at Pro Art Gallery and this particular art movement titled Fragmental Painting is something unique and very interesting to experience and discover."

Biographies:
Palacio, 36 years old, has been teaching at the School of Fine Arts and became an Art history teacher until 2011. He has been hosted in several major exhibitions in France such as FIAC Paris, and Contemporary Art exhibitions (Miami, London). He has been exposed in major Parisian and American galleries.
Llongueras, 47 years old, is an artist, concentrated for mostly on mosaic creation and sustainable design. Born in the south of France he was stylistically influenced and fascinated by the Spanish mosaic tradition at an early age. He has come to fuse art and ecology in a way that feels inherently natural and is unassumingly beautiful. A twenty year career based in Los Angeles has afforded him the opportunity to collaborate with some of the brightest and most creative minds of our time, and to work in projects including commercial and residential eco-design, fine art, landscape, and mosaic installation all over the world
Palacio and Llongueras met in late 2012. 2013 is the starting point of the movement they instantly called: "FRAGMENTAL PAINTING" by publishing the manifest of fragmental art.
