Privatefly.Com Teams Up With Chris Evans For BBC Children In Need
Private jet booking service helps provide VIP flights for 'money-can't-buy' charity auction.
- (1888PressRelease) November 16, 2012 - Private jet booking service, PrivateFly.com, has teamed up with the BBC's Chris Evans to provide a private jet for the Radio 2 host's Children in Need Auction. The company has helped to arrange a jet for the 8 Go Mad in Monaco trip, for which listeners were able to bid live on air on Thursday 15 November. Winning bids for the package totaled over £1 million.
Four pairs of tickets were auctioned for the four-night trip. In addition to the private jet flights, the package included: 'Access All Areas' VIP tickets to the 2013 Monaco Grand Prix; brunch with the F1 teams from Ferrari, McLaren, Lotus or Red Bull; accommodation at The Columbus Hotel; a party on Chris Evans' own yacht; and an invitation for one couple to Prince Albert of Monaco's cocktail party.
The Children in Need Auction took place over four mornings this week on the BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show, raising over £3.5 million in total. It offered unique, VIP celebrity experiences to the highest bidder - with all proceeds going to the annual BBC charity event. Other prizes included the chance to drive one of Chris Evans' own 'Magnificent Seven' cars; a Dine and Disco package featuring Goodwood Festival of Speed tickets and a performance from Gary Barlow; and the chance to play a 4 Ball of golf with Chris Evans and Graeme McDowell in the BMW PGA Championship Celebrity Pro-Am.
PrivateFly has arranged the flights in a Bombardier Challenger 850, which seats up to 16 people. The aircraft will make the return trip from London Farnborough to Nice Cote d'Azur in May next year.
Adam Twidell, CEO of PrivateFly, comments: "We are delighted to be able to help Chris Evans and his team put together this once-in-a-lifetime trip. The auction is a Children in Need highlight, offering money-can't-buy experiences, and raises a significant amount of money for a very worthy cause."
