Controversy halts prison minister's desire to broadcast on internet radio network.
(1888PressRelease) November 30, 2010 - Hollywood CA - Prison Minister, author and former radio host Marty Angelo has to stop broadcasting his weekly radio show on AD70.net. It seems there is quite a controversy brewing within this preterist radio network regarding a new participant who is called only: "Rivers of Eden" (ROE). This individual claims that Jesus Christ only came to earth to save the Jews and the Kingdom of God ended at the destruction of the Jewish temple in AD70 by the Romans.
"I understand preterism's view on eschatology and really do not have a problem with most of its' teachings which is why I agreed to broadcast on AD70.net." Angelo remarked. "However, I have never called myself a preterist. I consider myself a Christian who believes Jesus is with us now as King and we are living in his kingdom today."
Preterists have many different sects within its ranks from those who consider themselves Partial Preterists, who still feel Jesus is coming again at sometime in the future to Hyper Preterists who believe Jesus' second coming was in AD70 and there are no more prophesies left in the Bible to be fulfilled.
"My problem with AD70.net is it has allowed ROE to come on this network to spread, what I feel are outright lies." Angelo continues. "ROE states that Jesus only came to earth to save the Jews and calls gentiles the lost 10 tribes of Israel and no one else is or was saved after AD70. This false teaching is enough for me to bid a farewell in protest and never broadcast again on AD70.net. I believe Jesus came to save anyone who believes the gospel... both then in the first generation and upwards and including this generation. There is nothing to debate. This is Christianity 101. You do not need to go off to Bible college, read "other" books, charts, graphs or recite creeds to understand that. No one should be allowed to broadcast anything different."
Angelo hosted a weekly show on AD70.net entitled, "The Journey" and later changed the name to "Once Life Matters" after his published memoir. He already had placed his show on hold pending other ministry commitments. However, he has decided not to return in protest of this controversy. Angelo asked to have all of his archived podcast files removed from AD70.net and it immediately complied.
