According to latest forecasts, the volume of the worldwide print market would grow from the current 407 billion euros to 420 billion by the year 2020. Packaging printing will enjoy the most significant growth, with an increase of 3.3% per year and an expected share of 141 billion in the overall market by 2020. In terms of specific printing processes, it is projected that there will be a growth of 2.6% for flexo printing and 8% for digital printing.

Digital printing is currently mostly applied to labels, folding boxes and flexible packaging.
