Laurence Stone, D.D.S., M.A.G.D., with a Doylestown-based practice in Cosmetic and General Dentistry, attended the Academy of General Dentistry's (AGD) 2012 Annual Meeting & Exhibits, June 21 - 24 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. This was the 60th year for this event. Dr. Stone participated in the continuing education course, "To Graft or Not to Graft: Materials, Methods and Much, Much More." This course was structured for surgically-oriented implant dentists looking for an advanced experience or refresher program in advanced bone grafting. It emphasized what happens to bone when teeth are gone; how to preserve bone through extraction techniques; how to prevent bone loss after extraction; how to rebuild bone after loss; and potential bone grafting options. The procedures discussed included open and closed sinus lifts, block bone grafts, ridge expansion, implant grafting, and more. This top-notch continuing education event offered world-renowned speakers, exciting lecture and participation courses, and quality exhibitors, all intended to provide learning opportunities for those in attendance.
