Texas book publicist beats out a dozen book marketers to win annual
publishing watchdog's poll. P&E's 2011 questionnaire includes book marketers category for the first time.
(1888PressRelease) February 15, 2011 - Publishing industry watchdog, Preditors & Editors, has named Stephanie Barko, Literary Publicist its 2010 Best Book Promotion Service. The Preditors & Editors Readers Poll, which is held the first 14 days of each year, for the first time added book marketing firms, sites and resources to its ballot this year, emphasizing the increasingly critical role that book marketers play in book sales.
Barko beat out a dozen competitors who were also nominated to the ballot.
Many of her votes were accompanied by optional comments like "hardest working, most passionate, dynamo who knows her craft, and consummate professional". The win came on the heels of Barko's peers nominating her for Book Publicist of the Year in December.
This year's P&E Readers Poll offered 34 voting categories including Best Editor, Book Designer, Book Review Site, Book Store, and Writers' Forum. After votes were validated, winners were announced at the Preditors & Editors website in early February.
