PowerHealth partners AHSFMA to bring Clinical Costing Education to Health Finance Managers
PowerHealth Solutions partners with AHSFMA to collaborate on a series of e-learning Clinical Costing education modules for Healthcare Finance Managers.
- (1888PressRelease) November 10, 2015 - Healthcare developer PowerHealth Solutions has partnered with the Australian Health Services Financial Management Association (AHSFMA) to collaborate on a series of e-learning Clinical Costing education modules for Healthcare Finance Managers.
Clinical costing is used to measure the true cost incurred by hospitals in delivering healthcare services. With a trend of increasing pressures on the health system and rising Commonwealth health expenditure (an estimated increase of 3.9% in real terms from 2014-15 to 2017-18*), clinical costing is crucial to understanding and controlling the utilisation and efficiency of healthcare service delivery. Armed with clinical costing knowledge, Healthcare Finance Managers can assess the service performance of their organisation and work with clinicians and executives to develop strategies to improve service cost efficiency.
PowerHealth Solutions has been specialising in Clinical Costing since 1995. The company developed the award-winning PowerPerformance Manager (PPM) clinical costing system which has been adopted state-wide by New South Wales, South Australia, Western Australia, Australian Capital Territory, and Northern Territory, as well as by most hospitals in metropolitan Victoria and many private hospitals across Australia.
AHSFMA is a peak body for health finance professionals, providing value to over 2,500 Australian health finance professionals through education, development, research and networking activities. AHSFMA host many education events throughout the year such as the Executive Breakfast Series, Insight/Professional Development Series, Finance Fundamentals Program, International Study Tours, as well as an Annual Conference that attracts senior health finance decision makers from across Australia and overseas.
AHSFMA Executive Officer Vanessa Hicks said, "Clinical Costing is very much a hot topic as the healthcare industry focuses on improving efficiency to do more with less. We are very pleased to partner with PowerHealth Solutions, the leading experts in Clinical Costing, to bring this e-learning series to our members."
PowerHealth Solutions Project Director Evie Karagiannis said, "PowerHealth Solutions is very pleased to be working together with AHSFMA for the purpose of educating health finance managers around best practice in clinical costing and other IT solutions that will enable the healthcare professional community to optimise their efficiency and productivity."
