Two performing arts organizations join forces to produce, The Show Must Go Online, the first musical written and designed to be rehearsed and performed virtually.
- (1888PressRelease) April 18, 2020 - Portland, OR – On Tuesday, April 14, Confident Voice Studio and Portland Musical Theater Company opened registration for the first musical written to be rehearsed and performed all online.
Now performers of all ages and experience levels can join the cast of The Show Must Go Online with no audition required at TheShowMustGoOnlineMusical.com.
With the unprecedented mass cancellation of live theater events due to COVID-19, performers of all ages have lost long-awaited performance opportunities.
The Show Must Go Online is an opportunity for passionate performers to continue participating in theater safely at home, with every faucet of the show being conducted virtually from rehearsals to opening night.
How it works: Each actor in the cast receives a 1 to 2-minute song and monologue to rehearse, video record, and upload. When all the videos are played in order, they tell the hilarious story of a group of passionate students desperate to keep their annual musical alive…online!
The production is directed by Deanna Maio, founder of both Confident Voice Studio and Portland Musical Theater company and esteemed vocal coach. Maio has written, directed and performed in over 100 theater productions.
