- (1888PressRelease) October 15, 2011 - Poet Patricia Neely-Dorsey has joined Desire Street Books & Press as a featured writer. Neely-Dorsey is the author of "Reflections of a Mississippi Magnolia -- A Life in Poems," a celebration of the South.
"It's my great pleasure to become associated with Desire Street Books & Press," Neely-Dorsey said. "I look forward to getting to know its readers though the live chat."
The online discussion will be held on the Desire Street Books & Press website on Oct. 20 at 8 p.m. ET. Neely-Dorsey will discuss her work, poetry as an art form, and her life in the South. The public is invited.
Neely-Dorsey's chat is the second in a series that Desire Street Books & Press is hosting. Author Louis Park held an online discussion in July 2011. Park is author of "Wolf's Run," a novel set in Mississippi during the turbulent '60s.
Both Park and Neely-Dorsey sell their books through Desire Street, a New Orleans-focused online bookstore. Both authors have Web pages created just for them that include book descriptions, biographies and author-produced videos.
"Desire Street Books & Press welcomes independent authors who want to publish and publicize their work," said business development director Hugo H. Ottolenghi. "We support the great tradition of Southern literature."
