PODS moving and storage teams up with Habitat for Humanity to bring Douglas family home for the holidays
PODS Lexington donated moving and storage services to support local family in need.
- Ventura, CA (1888PressRelease) October 11, 2011 - Many non-profits are feeling the pains of a struggling economy, and face the challenge of a decreasing number of individual and business supporters to help them keep their organizations running. PODS Lexington, the official moving and storage partner of Lexington Habitat for Humanity, met this challenge head on when they recently teamed up to support the non-profit in building a home for a local family in need.
"When Lexington Habitat for Humanity asked for PODS help, we jumped at the opportunity," said Ken Kocon, manager of operations for PODS Lexington. "Supporting local non-profits is a major aspect of our business model and we hope that our support will motivate other businesses to do the same."
PODS Lexington has provided PODSŪ storage containers to store materials and tools onsite during the build of a home for Lexington resident, Rodricka Douglas and her family. Upon the completion of the home, PODS has additionally donated the use of PODSŪ containers and free local moving and storage services to help make the Douglas family's transition to their new home less stressful.
"We are so grateful for the continued support from PODS Lexington," said Dana Stefaniak, resource development director for Lexington Habitat for Humanity. "PODS has helped us streamline our work and make the entire build process much more efficient."
Through March 31, PODS Lexington will donate $10 to Lexington Habitat for Humanity and will provide $15 off to each customer who rents a PODSŪ container and uses the promo code H4HLEX.
PODS will participate in the upcoming dedication ceremony for the Douglas family on Oct. 8 at 4 p.m. at the newly-built home, 1608 Konner Woods Drive.
