HOST OF PLUSH TOY PRODUCT LAUNCHES FOR THE REGION TO TAKE PLACE AT PLAYWORLD MIDDLE EAST
Plush toys have always been a winner with children of all ages ever since they first appeared in the shape of the traditional teddy bear of years past. They continue to be popular even today as toy industry figures indicate that children's fascination with plush toys of all categories continues to drive the market upward.
Today children are flooded with animated movies, cartoon characters, animated video games on consoles and iPads, like never before. Plush toy manufacturers have plugged into the fascination with these images by coming out with an entire range of toys dedicated to the cartoons and figures that shape the fantasies of today's child.
"Many of today's plush toys look different to those of the past, but they still continue to hold a fascination in the minds of the young the world over," said Ahmed Pauwels, Chief Executive Officer of Epoc Messe Frankfurt, organiser of Playworld Middle East, the only trade show representing the world of toys, games and children's lifestyle products in the region.
"Playworld Middle East has recorded interest from international manufacturers and regional distributors and suppliers of plush toys. Some of the leading brand names in the business will be on display at the event as they look to tap into the demand of the Middle East consumer," he added.
Research into consumer spending habits conducted by Euromonitor International, leading research firm and official Knowledge Partner of Playworld Middle East, indicates that the market for plush toys in 2010 was worth an approximate $283.8 million in 2010, up from US$201.5 mn in 2005, giving an indication of children's continued fascination with plush toys.
