Playwright Paul Bratcher Directs New Play in New Rochelle's Wildcliff

  • New York, NY (1888PressRelease) August 10, 2011 - This week Wildcliff presents its first theatre project of the season with Mt. Vernon playwright Paul Bratcher's musical stageplay A Mended Heart. The play is about a woman's struggle in overcoming heart break. The play opens Saturday, August 13th at 6pm with a rain date of Sunday, August 14th at 3pm.

    Bratcher approached Eric Woodlin months ago about mounting his new work on Wildcliff's open air stage. After hearing the powerful voices in the play, Woodlin gave the green light to mount the piece. The collaboration of the two African American producers presents an opportunity for future theatre projects in Westchester County (NY). Woodlin in pursuit of his second annual short play festival, Appetizers, has long awaited a partnership that leverages his theatre productions.

    About the Playwright
    Paul Bratcher is a Westchester, NY native whom has written, directed and produced musical theatre for ten years. 'Looking for Love in All the Wrong Places' was his first gospel and theatrical debut. In 2008, Paul mounted his sophomore project, 'He Who Findeth a Good Wife, Findeth A Good Thing' - starring singer Montell Jordan and American Idol's Vonzell Solomon, performing at Tarrytown Music Hall.

    Malinda Daniel-Hodge is a multi-talented singer, actress and poet. She is no stranger to the stage as she started singing at the age of two in her church choir, and inspired to take the stage while performing at Theresa's School of Dance. Malinda has starred as a featured actress in several plays, Every Dog Has His Day, Raisin in the Sun, You Can't Take it with You, Guys and Dolls, Chicago, Looking for Love in All the Wrong Places, and He Who Findeth A Good Wife, Findeth A Good Thing.

    Romello Cooper, is an actor/model from NYC who has appeared in shoots for Sean Jean and Jet Magazine. His roles span from movies, The Gospel, The Fighting Temptations, The Last Adam and Tyler Perry's Madea's Family Reunion, through independent films, Til Death Do Us Part and Girl Talk.

    Ta Tanishia Pearson is a NYC actress and dancer, who has recently completed her role in the play 'What If' where she received rave reviews.
