Eyetique has recently added the first Norman Childs Eyewear store dedicated to their in-house line. Now with ten locations, they have increased their workforce by 20% in the last three months and reported 20% growth this year.
- Pittsburgh, PA (1888PressRelease) December 09, 2011 - Eyetique has recently added another store to their seven current Pittsburgh retail optical locations. The new store is the first one dedicated to their in-house line, Norman Childs Eyewear. After purchasing the Neovision office and store at 5418 Walnut Street in Shadyside, they converted it to an eyetique location with added space. The eyetique store, formerly located at 5508/5510 Walnut St., became the new Norman Childs Eyewear store in just three days.
The new Norman Childs Eyewear location will feature over 50 designs from his own collection, which has grown to be one-third of eyetique's sales since the frames were first designed in 1998. Childs has his frames made in California with materials imported from Italy. This new store will also carry select designer sunglasses and be served by an eye doctor at the larger eyetique location a block down on Walnut St.
In addition to their retail expansion, eyetique has also increased their workforce by 20% in the last three months, adding a director of business development, ten new employees, and promoting several more. Experiencing 20% growth as well this year, Childs hopes to continue to expand and increase their retail outlets to 20 over the next four years. "We really believe that Pittsburgh is a market where there's a lot of growth potential," he said.
Eyetique has recently launched a Charity Partners Program where customers can donate 2% of their net purchase to a selection of local and national charities, among them Animal Friends, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Pittsburgh Glass Center, and Shepherd Wellness Community. In addition, they have started a Small Business Program where companies with 10-100 employees and immediate family members who don't provide vision insurance can offer a 22% discount and free annual eye exam to employees and their immediate family members for no cost to the company. Also under the eyetique umbrella is the 3 Guys Optical chain, formerly Sosniak Opticians, that offers affordable brand-name frames and eye exams at reasonable prices.
Founded by Norman Childs, eyetique first opened in 1979 in the Squirrel Hill area of Pittsburgh and has grown to 10 stores located throughout the greater Pittsburgh region including Shadyside, Wexford, South Hills Village, Wilkins Twp., Southside Works, Squirrel Hill, the Mall at Robinson and 3 Guys Optical stores in Pittsburgh and Oakland. They have built their reputation on providing exceptional service along with high-fashion, high-quality products. More information can be found at www.eyetique.com or www.3guysoptical.com.
