In this educational seminar, industry leaders will discuss how the application of lean operating principles and cutting-edge hiring tools, proven in other industries, are not transforming healthcare.
- Pittsburgh, PA (1888PressRelease) July 30, 2010 - Four keynote speakers will discuss how America's flagship health systems are changing at "Healthcare Goes Lean" on Friday, August 27 at the University of Pittsburgh's University Club. Hosted by Select International, the event will outline how healthcare organizations can significantly improve quality of services and the overall patient experience by applying the proven hiring and lean operating principles used in other industries.
Rhonda Larimore, Vice President and Chief Human Resource Officer at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, will discuss Children's ability to identify talent and build the workforce necessary to successfully provide value-driven care. She will explain how applying lean process improvement to the HR world can streamline the hiring process and cut costs.
Michael Hoseus, former Toyota corporate leader and co-author of the bestselling book, The Toyota Culture: The Heart and Soul of the Toyota Way, will discuss how healthcare can benefit from Toyota's 50 years of lessons learned in lean operations. He will provide the ABC's of a lean implementation in healthcare and review models that are being used successfully today.
Providing the legal perspective, Maria Greco Danaher, a Shareholder from Ogletree Deakins' Pittsburgh office, will provide an update on recent employment law developments important to healthcare HR professionals, including challenges with physician employment models.
Kevin Klinvex, co-founder of Select International and co-author of the business bestseller, Hiring Great People, rounds out the panel. He will talk about the transformation of hiring in healthcare and will review new competency models, testing inventories, and interview questions that support lean operations.
