Pittsburgh Aviation Animal Rescue Team Kicks Off Fundraising Campaign to Save More Animals
PAART's goal is to raise $25,000 on Indiegogo.com. All donations will go directly towards funding flights, providing food and supplies, and providing education and outreach programs to spread the word about the proper treatment of animals.
- Pittsburgh, PA (1888PressRelease) July 17, 2014 - In an effort to continue to save more animals, the Pittsburgh Aviation Animal Rescue Team (PAART) is launching a fundraising campaign with a goal of $25,000. The money will be used to fund additional flights to transport rescued animals to their new homes, purchase food and supplies for needy shelters, and grow their outreach and educational programs.
The campaign officially kicked off on Indiegogo.com on July 13 and will run for 45 days, until September 11, 2014. The campaign page can be found at http://igg.me/at/paart and includes stories, pictures, and videos and will continually be updated with new information about PAART rescue missions and success stories. The reward for the top donation level is a personalized original acrylic on canvas painting by Pittsburgh pop artist Burton Morris. Other rewards include a PAART flight suit, puppy prize pack, recognition on their Facebook page, and the ability to sponsor a whole mission or save one dog.
One hundred percent of donations will go directly to helping to save animals and PAART is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization so donations may be tax deductible.
Founded in 2006, the Pittsburgh Aviation Animal Rescue Team (PAART) has transported hundreds of rescued animals to their new loving homes. In addition to animal rescue the group has also collected and distributed over 60,000 lbs. of food and other donated supplies to many shelters throughout the tri-state area. "The more we save, the more we realize how many more are out there, living in dire conditions. We want to do more," said Brad Childs, co-founder and pilot for PAART.
Realizing the need for public education and awareness, PAART started an outreach program in 2013, providing educational programs to schools and other organizations. Outreach, social media, and networking have helped the organization to rapidly expand and they want continue their efforts to reach as many dogs and volunteers as possible. "We have found that the spirit of human kindness is amazing and so many people want to help. We want to make them heroes, too," said Jonathan Plesset, co-founder and pilot for PAART.
All of the efforts of PAART have been self-funded by the founders and volunteers and they have made it their mission to save as many animals as humanly possible. To make it easier for volunteers, they are working on developing a universal app and website that will connect volunteers with rescue missions to transport the animals in need. The fundraising campaign will support their mission.
