- Miami, FL (1888PressRelease) January 24, 2013 - Pinnacle Housing Group's Regional Vice President, Timothy Wheat, was recently appointed to the Affordable Housing Advisory Board of the Federal Home Loan Bank in Atlanta. FHLBank Atlanta is a cooperative bank that offers competitively priced financing, community development grants, and other banking services to help member financial institutions make affordable home mortgages and provide economic development credit to neighborhoods and communities.
Wheat joins a 15-member council comprised from a diverse group of community, not-for-profit, and for-profit organizations actively involved in providing or promoting low- and moderate-income housing and/or community lending within the FHLBank Atlanta district. The Advisory Council provides advice to FHLBank Atlanta's Board of Directors regarding ways in which the Bank can enhance the effectiveness of its housing finance mission and community lending programs, products, and services.
Wheat's 26-year professional career has almost entirely been dedicated to the development and preservation of affordable housing. He has overseen the acquisition, development, financing and management of nearly 4,000 multi-family affordable and market rate housing units in Florida and throughout the United States.
Wheat joined Pinnacle Housing Group, the nation's seventh largest affordable housing developer, in 2002. He has overseen a number of successful and trend-setting developments across the state. Wheat is a founding member of the Board of Directors of the Community Land Trust of Palm Beach County, Inc.
Among the various committees he has served on, most recently he was Chairman of the Universal Design Committee for the statewide Coalition of Affordable Housing Providers. Wheat is a Board member for the Broward Housing Partnership, and he is a past Board member of the Housing Leadership Council of Palm Beach County.
Wheat is a native Floridian and a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Fordham University.
