Pinnacle ENT Associates, LLC Granted Esteemed CT Accreditation by the IAC
Accreditation Marks Quality Care and Compliance with National Standards for Early Detection Procedures.
- Philadelphia, PA-NJ (1888PressRelease) November 05, 2014 - Pinnacle ENT Associates, LLC (PENTA), the largest Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT), Allergy and Audiology practice in the Philadelphia area has been granted a three-year term of accreditation in Computed Tomography (CT) in the areas of Sinus and Temporal Bone CT by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC).
Computed Tomography (CT) is a highly regarded diagnostic imaging tool due to its ability to detect minute differences in tissue as well as its multiplanar reformatted imaging capabilities. A CT Accreditation by the IAC is a "seal of approval" that patients can rely on as an indication that the facility has been carefully critiqued on all aspects of its operations considered relevant by medical experts in the field of CT.
The IAC grants accreditation only to those facilities that are found to be providing quality patient care, in compliance with national standards through a comprehensive application process including detailed case study review.
"To receive this accreditation, PENTA underwent a comprehensive application process including a thorough review of our operations and technical components," said Marc Surkin, MD, FACS, President of PENTA. "We place this accreditation in high regard, and are pleased to provide our patients with further assurance that they are receiving the highest quality of care."
Early detection of life threatening conditions and other diseases is possible through the use of CT procedures performed within hospitals, outpatient centers and physicians' offices. The skill of the CT technologist, equipment used, background knowledge of the interpreting physician and quality assurance measures are also critical components to quality patient testing.
About IAC Accreditation
IAC accreditation is widely respected within the medical community, as illustrated by the support of the national medical societies related to CT, which include physicians, technologists and physicists. CT accreditation is required by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and in some cases by private insurers. However, patients should remain vigilant in making sure that their CT procedures are performed within accredited facilities, because for some facilities it remains a voluntary process.
