Peru is a very dramatic country. A desert coastline so bone-dry that it often resembles a moonscape, huge, towering mountains capped by white glaciers, misty, jade green cloud forests, trackless, Amazonian rain forests, countless archeological sites, and rich cultures provide so much contrast, composition, and stunning scenery that one could spend a few lifetimes capturing Peru with photography.
Most subjects can be captured in the conventional, hand-held fashion but this just doesn't do justice to a number of the most stunning Peruvian sites and situations. With the massive Andean mountains forming the backbone of the country, alpine scenery abounds but conventional images that truly represent the awe-inspiring feelings one has upon witnessing such majestic scenes are rare at best.
