In memory of fallen Phoenix Police Officer Zane Coolidge, a local company is stepping up to support his family in the wake of his tragic passing. Officer Coolidge, a young and dedicated public servant, was shot in the line of duty on September 3 while responding to a call with his partner, Officer Matthew Haney, near 16th Street and McDowell. The suspect fired on both officers, who were rushed to the hospital, while additional officers took the suspect into custody.
Officer Haney, protected by his ballistic vest, was discharged from the hospital the next day. Sadly, Officer Coolidge succumbed to his injuries a few days later, leaving behind his wife, Kristin, and their six-month-old daughter.
To ease the family’s financial burden, Inty Power, one of Arizona’s top solar installation companies, is donating and installing a solar power system to cover the family’s utility costs for years to come through the Do Bright Foundation, a nonprofit that focuses on families in need and single mother households, which provides free solar systems to help reduce their monthly expenses “We want to show our support for public servants like Officer Coolidge,” said Jonathan Clavijo, owner of Inty Power. “When they make such profound sacrifices for our community’s safety, it’s important for us to step up in any way we can.”
The solar system, which will be installed just before Christmas for the family, is expected to significantly reduce the family’s utility expenses for the next 15 to 25 years. The foundation was preparing for its first donation when they heard about Officer Coolidge’s passing and knew his family should be the first recipient.
This gesture aims to honor Officer Coolidge’s memory and bring some relief to his family, allowing them to focus on healing while their utilities remain covered for years to come.
