Philippine exporters participate in How to win more export orders workshop to upgrade marketing skills to boost sales and create jobs

  • (1888PressRelease) February 29, 2012 - To help Philippine suppliers thrive in this touch economy, Global Sources and the non-profit Kearny Alliance coordinated with the Chamber of Furniture Industries of the Philippines (CFIP) National Chapter to organize "How to win more export orders" workshop on Feb. 23 in San Juan City, Metro Manila.

    Participants were the Chamber's members, associate members, and other handicraft exporters. The organizers scheduled the workshop to help suppliers attract more buyers and generate more sales at the upcoming Global Sources China Sourcing Fair: Home Products scheduled for Apr. 20 - 23 in Hong Kong

    The workshop facilitators offered insight into key marketing issues, including:
    * Understanding buyers' needs;
    * Suppliers' unique selling points;
    * Effectively buyer communication, and;
    * Effective trade show participation.
    The aim was to give suppliers practical skills and tools to apply into their trade show and online marketing platforms to generate more sales and create more jobs.

    "We have been looking for the right module to teach our members marketing strategies that can help them generate more export orders," said Ajun Valenzuela, executive director of the Chamber of Furniture Industries of the Philippines. "Through this effective seminar that is designed to help exporters differentiate themselves from competition and how to effectively communicate their unique selling points to buyers, they can have a significant edge in the evolving global market.

    "The post-seminar survey shows 93 percent of participants have rated the intensive training as 'very good' and 'excellent'. I have spoken to our members and they expressed their appreciation of this initiative, especially the learnings they derived from the exercises.

    Charisse Ledesma, representative from furniture manufacturer Le deSenyo, said: "The speaker was an excellent resource person, and the lecture is very timely and relatable.
