Philip Melugin Accepts Economic Impact Award
Springfield Business Journal gives healthcare organization Phoenix Home Care its 2012 Knights Winner.

The Knights Award goes to organizations that have been in business one to five years.
The award recognized Philip Melugin 's Phoenix Home Care, which was founded in 2011 and has quickly established itself in the industry. Serving clients from St. Louis to Wichita, Kansas, Phoenix Home Care achieved $2.5 million in earnings in 2011 and has already beaten that benchmark in 2012, bringing in $16 million the first half of this year.
Philip Melugin was honored to accept such a high achievement after only 15 months in business. As Philip Melugin explains, the company continues to expand. Earlier this year, the company acquired ProActive Home Care, giving Phoenix Home Care its first Wichita clients. The company serves a wide range of clients, from senior citizens who choose from five levels of care to children who have disabilities. Philip Melugin says Phoenix Home Care is also finding more clients are of the "sandwich generation," meaning they are now tasked with helping both their parents and their children.

Phoenix Home Care's expansion into Wichita is not the final stage of its growth. While Philip Melugin says future expansions are still in the works, the company is currently in the process of expanding its Springfield office, with some employees already having moved into the new space. Other office expansions are planned, as well.
Philip Melugin has a long history in the home health care industry, having worked as president and co-owner of Integrity Home Care and assistant vice president of Oxford Health Care. While working in home health care administration, Melugin has simultaneously served on several advisory boards that support the ABD population with improved services in the industry. Melugin has also served as president of a statewide industry association.
