Philanthropic Pursuits Earn Gala Corporation Restaurant Neighborhood Award
Gala Corporation was selected as a winner of the 2012 Restaurant Neighborhood Award. Gala, home of Applebee's and Famous Dave's BBQ, raised awareness to local communities throughout the country, including churches, libraries, sports teams, and veterans.
- Orange County, CA (1888PressRelease) May 05, 2012 - Gala Corporation has been selected as one of six state winners of the 2012 Restaurant Neighbor Award, presented by the National Restaurant Association. The awards raise awareness of the industry's contributions to local communities throughout the country, as well as inspire owners and operators to get involved within their respective neighborhoods.
Gala Corporation, comprised of 25 restaurant units including Applebee's and Famous Dave's barbeque, is deeply dedicated to supporting local organizations. In the last year alone, Gala Corporation donated more than one million dollars to organizations that range from reading clubs and libraries, to churches and sports teams. One such effort benefits military veterans. Employees and guests were encouraged to write letters to troops overseas and send them with bottles of Famous Dave's World Famous BBQ Sauce. In addition, last year the company served more than 9,200 active and retired veterans on Veteran's Day.
