Philadelphia VIP Celebrates Office Move with Open House Tours

Philadelphia, PA-NJ (1888PressRelease) October 28, 2011 - Philadelphia VIP, the hub of pro bono legal services in Philadelphia, held a series of open houses to welcome volunteers to the agency's new office space. The new workspace, at 1500 Walnut Street, doubled the agency's previous square footage. The new office facilities help VIP to better meet the needs of its clients and the community. The new office has dedicated space for trainings, practice group meetings, break-out rooms for private client meetings, a business center for volunteers to do research or draft documents and state-of-the-art technology.

Throughout September and October, more than 200 individuals attended the open house events. The attendees, which included Philadelphia VIP Board members, judges, volunteers, donors, members of the bar associations, social services, housing and legal services partners, law students and law school deans; were able to tour the new space, socialize and learn more about VIP programs and initiatives.

"These open houses have not only provided great opportunities to show off our fantastic new offices," said Sara L. Woods, Philadelphia VIP Executive Director, "but have given us the chance to personally thank our wonderful volunteers, supporters and partners. This has been a milestone year for us, celebrating our 30th anniversary and moving to new space. We look forward to even greater success serving our community."

VIP promotes equal justice for the poor by providing civil legal services not otherwise available to low-income individuals. By collaborating with other legal services organizations and promoting a culture of volunteerism, VIP educates and exposes attorneys and law students to issues of poverty in the region.
