Tanner, a Philadelphia personal injury attorney and the co-managing partner of Feldman Shepherd Wohlgelernter Tanner Weinstock & Dodig LLP, will serve as a faculty member for a continuing legal education (CLE) program, "Trial Strategy with Mongeluzzi, Stern & Tanner," on April 6, 2011 at The CLE Conference Center in Philadelphia. The four-credit program will also be available at additional locations throughout Pennsylvania via live simulcast, and online via live webcast.
During the CLE, Tanner will share his experience and proven trial techniques, covering trial themes, opening statements, direct examination, cross examination and closing statements. The course will focus on guiding litigators in finding the core of a case and implementing a consistent strategy throughout trial. The event will be co-sponsored by the Pennsylvania Bar Institute (PBI) and the Pennsylvania Bar Association (PBA) Civil Litigation Section.
Tanner, an accomplished trial attorney with a wide ranging practice focusing on complex litigation, has secured one of the largest medical malpractice verdicts in the courts of Pennsylvania, along with what is believed to be the largest jury verdict in the state in a bad faith case against an insurance company. His practice interests include medical negligence, disability insurance claims, insurance bad faith, product liability and class action litigation.
A widely recognized leading Pennsylvania litigator, he is frequently tapped to serve as a faculty member in programs devoted to the development of trial advocacy skills, and teaches at Temple University Beasley School of Law's Academy of Trial Advocacy. Tanner has also been appointed to serve as liaison counsel in mass tort litigation in the Pennsylvania's state and federal courts. He has sat on the board of directors of the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association since 1997, serving as the organization's president from 2007 through 2008.
In 2006, Tanner became one of the youngest attorneys ever invited to become a fellow of the prestigious International Academy of Trial Attorneys. He has also been selected for membership in the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) and is certified as a Civil Trial Specialist by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. For seven consecutive years, Tanner has been recognized by Thomson Reuters, published annually in Philadelphia magazine, as a Top 100 Pennsylvania Super Lawyer®. He has been named among the Top 10 Super Lawyers in Pennsylvania since 2008.
