Pharrell Williams Was Voted Hat Person Of The Year In An Online Poll Conducted By The Headwear Association (THA)
The hat Pharrell Williams wore to the Grammy Awards is the gift that keeps on giving, earning the rapper, music producer and fashion designer the honor of "Hat Person of the Year," the Headwear Association announced.
- (1888PressRelease) February 07, 2014 - Congratulations to Pharrell Williams, who was voted Hat Person of the Year in an online poll conducted by The Headwear Association (THA). Pharrell has made hats of all styles - fedoras, panamas, trappers, driving caps - part of his signature style for years, but it was probably the Vivienne Westwood Buffalo Gals hat that he wore to the 2014 Grammys that sealed the Hat Person of the Year Award for him.
In a recent online poll, Pharrell received 25% of the votes, narrowly edging out Bruno Mars and Justin Timberlake who each received 24% of the votes in the closest year of voting ever. Votes were also cast for Anne Hathaway (11%), Beyonce (8%), Salma Hayak (5%) and Al Roker (3%).
Previous recipients of the Hat Person of the Year award include Kate Moss, Kate Middleton, Johnny Depp and Brad Pitt. Pharrell Williams will be honored at the 106th annual THA Gala held at The Central Park Boathouse on April 24, 2014. The dinner is open to anyone in the fashion and headwear industries.
