- Philadelphia, PA-NJ (1888PressRelease) February 20, 2014 - Compliance Implementation Services (CIS), a leading life sciences regulatory advisor and implementation firm, has hired Sharon H. Greeson, R.Ph as Strategic Consultant, Government Pricing and Programs to support CIS' state Medicaid service offerings and lead its "State Medicaid Initiative", which will help pharmaceutical manufacturers with their Medicaid and Medicaid Managed Care Organization (MMCO) forecasting and increase the availability of consistent data points at the state level.
With the potential for hundreds of state Medicaid invoices each quarter and the evolving state Medicaid landscape, manufacturers are spending more time and resources than ever before on Medicaid claims. Due in part to the recent passage of the Affordable Care Act, one of the primary challenges for manufacturers is understanding and planning for the expansion of Medicaid and, more specifically, forecasting Medicaid and Medicaid Managed Care rebate liability. From processing invoices to performing accruals, CIS provides the staff, systems and expertise needed to alleviate the burdens of participating in state Medicaid programs. CIS offers a wide range of state Medicaid services aimed at navigating the challenges presented by Medicaid expansion including: Medicaid Rebate Forecasting, Invoice Processing and Payment Processing Services, Dispute Resolution, Medicaid Invoice Processing Supplemental Resources, Claims Level Detail Scrubbing and Analysis, Trending Reports, Historical Claims Data Integration, Supplemental Rebate Contracting Assistance and State Medicaid Rebate Training.
"Sharon brings a wealth of experience related to state Medicaid programs which makes her ideally qualified to lead CIS' State Medicaid Initiative. Prior to joining CIS, Sharon was the North Carolina Pharmacy Director, HP Enterprise Services and has extensive knowledge of how state Medicaid agencies operate, how policy and system changes are made at the state level, and state reimbursement methodologies. She will serve a key role in supporting the growth of new initiatives within CIS to expand the service offerings and expertise in these arenas to our clients," said Chris Cobourn, Senior Vice President, Commercial Strategy.
In her role, Ms. Greeson will support the development of state communications and strengthen CIS' relationships with state directors of pharmacy benefits. She will also lead the initiative to develop and provide information that will effectively help clients stay up-to-date on state Medicaid program issues. Ms. Greeson has more than 25 years of experience in managing, designing, and implementing pharmacy programs, with expertise in program analysis, requirements evaluation, and solution development. She also has extensive experience in pharmacy reference data, transactions, and claims.
"Access to state information is more valuable than ever especially with the challenge of Gross-to-Net and forecasting Medicaid. CIS experts understand industry compliance and reporting trends, and are well positioned to provide necessary guidance through reports, relationships with individual States, consultative services, forums and thought leadership venues. I look forward to contributing to CIS' efforts to develop the best possible solutions for our current and future clients," said Greeson.
Greeson retired from her role as pharmacy director at HP Enterprise Services last year after 17 years with the company, where she oversaw fiscal agent responsibilities for the entire pharmacy program for North Carolina Medicaid. Prior to HP, she was a Pharmacy Manager and Staff Pharmacist for Kerr Drug for 11 years. She is a graduate of University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and is a state of North Carolina licensed pharmacist. She is a member of the North Carolina Association of Pharmacists Board of Directors, Wake County Pharmaceutical Association, and American Society of Automation in Pharmacy.
Greeson will provide an overview of the full spectrum of challenges presented by state Medicaid program participation in CIS' webinar entitled "Navigating State Medicaid Challenges" on February 20 at 2:00pm EST. She will explain how Medicaid rebate liability is evolving and its financial and compliance implications across the business. Greeson will also share best practices for how manufacturers can stay current with the responsibilities in administering and managing the Medicaid Drug Rebate Program and other related programs at the Annual Medicaid Rebate Summit on February 26-27 in Washington DC. Her session entitled "Operational Strategies for State Medicaid Rebate Invoicing" will focus on strategies for overcoming manufacturer staffing challenges for processing the ongoing additional MMCO invoices, assumptions and adjustments necessary for state claims data and the impact additional MMCO invoices have on open disputes.
