Las Vegas, NV-AZ (1888PressRelease) April 07, 2020 - Today Sam Peters, United States Air Force veteran, Bronze Star recipient, and Republican candidate for Congress in Nevada’s 4th District, called for healthy Nevadans, who can do so, to donate blood as hospitals nationwide face a severe blood shortage due to COVID-19 (coronavirus). Peters himself donated blood last week. With closures throughout the Las Vegas Valley area, dozens of larger blood drives have been forced to cancel due to the coronavirus pandemic. Peters said donating blood through the local community blood service providers is something that every healthy resident can do to assist first responders and health care workers. This is an essential service and one of the great reasons to go outside. Anyone interested in donating is encouraged to first make an appointment as social distancing and proper health measures will be required.

“Right now, first responders, nurses and doctors who are our frontline soldiers in the fight against COVID-19 face a severe shortage of blood,” said Sam Peters. “I urge everyone who is eligible and capable to contact one of the local community blood service providers and schedule an appointment to donate blood. Helping our doctors, nurses, and first responders isn’t a Republican or Democratic thing to do, it is the American thing to do.”

Peters is a veteran of the United States Air Force. He served his country in Afghanistan, Iraq, Panama, and Korea. He earned the Bronze Star for his efforts in Afghanistan.

After his service to our nation, Peters worked for two years as a corporate employee where he managed nearly $100 million in annual revenue across the largest geographical region in the United States. Peters settled in Las Vegas with his family, and exercising his entrepreneurial spirit, Peters founded Peters Family Insurance with two locations. He presently employs eight.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice Administration, graduating Magna Cum Laude from Park University. He finished his Master of Science in Administration, with focus on law, through Central Michigan University. His continued thirst for knowledge, has also led him through a Graduate-Level Certificate Program in Organizational Finance from the University of Maryland University College.
