Peter Schoonjans Will Come Out of Retirement to Race in the 2012 World Cup on a Stradalli Trebisacce Red-Pro
Peter Schoonjans, the winner of the 2006 GP Lucien Van Impe road race, will come out of retirement to race in next year's World Cup Masters Race in the Austrian market town of St. Johann in Tirol. Peter will ride a Stradalli Trebisacce Red-Pro.
- (1888PressRelease) September 02, 2011 - Miami, Florida - Stradalli Cycle, the high performance carbon bicycle manufacturer, is pleased to announce that Peter Schoonjans will ride a Stradalli Trebisacce Red-Pro as he competes in next year's World Cup Masters Race in the Austrian market town of St. Johann in Tirol.
GP Etienne de Wilde and GP Roger de Vlaeminck winner Peter Schoonjans retired at the end of 2006, but has now decided to make a come back on a Stradalli for the 2012 Masters. During his professional career Peter won many road races including the 153 Km GP De Immotheker in 2003. Before retiring Peter rode for the Sean Kelly team of Ireland.
His bike for the 2012 Masters is the Stradalli Trebisacce Red-Pro a 100% carbon fiber machine with a tensile strength of 50 tons per square cm, and an exterior weave of 3000 weaves per crossing (3K). This light but stiff frame gives riders excellent performance, speed and torque.

The story behind Peter's return to professional racing is one of man and machine. During the 2011 Masters event Peter met with Stradalli and tested out the Stradalli Trebisacce Red-Pro. He was so enthralled by the bike be bought it on the spot and started making plans to return to the event in 2012. Back in his native Belgium, Peter will now train and race as he prepares for the 2012 World Cup.
The UCI World Cup at St. Johann in Tirol is one of the most prestigious cycling events in the world. Each year sees thousands of participants, from over 50 countries, take the challenge of the 40km circuit which takes the rider on a testing run through the mountains around the beautiful market town.
